Stop the Bleed initiative
“Stop the Bleed” Campaign is a federal initiative that aims to save lives by providing more people with the tools and knowledge to stop life threatening bleeding.
The White House will today make an announcement that will highlight the administration’s efforts, in coordination with the private sector, to provide bystanders of emergency situations with the tools and knowledge to stop life threatening bleeding. Providing bystanders with basic tools and information on the simple steps they can take in an emergency situation to stop life threatening bleeding can save lives.
The initiative
The initiative to save lives in the face of acts of terror and hate crimes has far reaching implications in training and equipment for the security and emergency services, as well as for businesses, schools and even the general public and includes equipping emergency services and strategic locations with kits to treat severe haemorrhage (bleeding) that contain hemostatic products such as Celox Rapid gauze.
Preparedness for these events involves equipment, training and the ability of emergency agencies and trained first responders to work closely together.
The announcement from the White House, ‘Stop The Bleed’ is to be released 1:00 PM EDT.
